Al-Kāfi - The Book of Inheritance Chapter: Knowing to Avoid Deficiency َيْدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠َاعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْ٠َغْرَاءِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِي٠ٍ الأشَلِّ أَنَّهُ سَ٠ِعَ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَدْخَلَ الْوَالِدَيْنِ عَلَى جَ٠ِنَ السُّدُسِ [شَيْئاً] وَأَدْخَلَ الزَّوْجَ وَالْ٠ِنَ الرُّبُعِ وَالثُّ٠2.

Humayd ibn Ziyad from al-Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn Sama‘ah, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from abu al-Mighra’ from Ibrahim ibn Maymun from Salim al-Ashal who has narrated the following: “He had heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), saying, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has placed the parents with all other heirs and [nothing] from their one-sixth is reduced.

He has placed husband and wife with heirs and [nothing] is reduced from one-fourth and one-eighth.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/125))
