Al-Kāfi - The Book of Inheritance Chapter: The Share of Grandchildren in the legacy ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَ٠َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠ِيعاً عَنِ ابْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الأوَّلِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ بَنَاتُ الابْنَةِ يَقُ٠َ الْبِنْتِ إِذَا لَ٠َيِّتِ بَنَاتٌ وَلا وَارِثٌ غَيْرُهُنَّ وَبَنَاتُ الابْنِ يَقُ٠َ الابْنِ إِذَا لَ٠َيِّتِ بَنَاتٌ أَوْلادٌ وَلا وَارِثٌ غَيْرُهُنَّ.

Daughters of one’s son replace one’s son if the deceased does not leave behind any daughters of children and there are no other heirs besides them.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (23/134))
