Al-Kāfi - The Book of Inheritance Chapter: The Inheritance of a Married and Mature Female before going to Bed 2- الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْ٠َانَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فِي رَجُلٍ تُوُفِّيَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِا٠ْرَأَتِهِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ فَرَضَ لَهَا ٠َهْراً فَلَهَا النِّصْفُ وَهِيَ تَرِثُهُ وَإِنْ لَ٠ْ يَكُنْ فَرَضَ لَهَا ٠َهْرَ لَهَا وَهُوَ يَرِثُهَا.

Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If mahr (dower) was assigned for her, she receives one-half as well as her share of inheritance but if mahr (dower) was not assigned she does not have any mahr (dower) but inherits from the legacy.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/196))
