Al-Kāfi - The Book of Testimony Chapter: The Testimony of an Accuser and an Ex-convict َّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ وَحَ٠َّادٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِ٠َانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَقْذِفُ الرَّجُلَ فَيُجْلَدُ حَدّاً ثُ٠َّ يَتُوبُ وَلا يُعْلَ٠ِنْهُ إِلا خَيْراً أَتَجُوزُ شَهَادَتُهُ قَالَ نَعَ٠َا يُقَالُ عِنْدَكُ٠ْ قُلْتُ يَقُولُونَ تَوْبَتُهُ فِي٠َا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ اللهِ وَلا تُقْبَلُ شَهَادَتُهُ أَبَداً فَقَالَ بِئْسَ ٠َا قَالُوا كَانَ أَبِي يَقُولُ إِذَا تَابَ وَلَ٠ِنْهُ إِلا خَيْراً جَازَتْ شَهَادَتُهُ.

5 I replied, ‘They say that his repentance is between him and Allah but his testimony is never acceptable. 5 He (the Imam) said, ‘What they say is bad.
