Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ali ibn âIsmaâil from Muhammad ibn âAmr from Ali ibn al-Hassan from Hariz from abu âUbaydah who has narrated the following: âI once asked abu Jaâfar (a.s.), about the case of a man who gives one thousand dirham to a man to mix with his assets and use in trade. When he asks for payment, he says that the asset has gone along with an equal amount of assets that belongs to someone else with a great deal of funds of other people.
He then asks, âWhat have the others done?â He replies, âThey took their assets? Abu Jaâfar, and abu âAbd Allah, âAlayhim al-Salam, both have said, âHe can ask him (the trader) for his assets, who can then ask them for whatever (extra) they have taken?â ÙØ«Ù - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (24/304))
