Al-Kāfi - The Book of Oaths, Vows and Expiations Chapter: Tne must Take an Oath only for what He Knows 2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْ٠ُغِيرَةِ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَيْ٠َنَ الْحَنَّاطِ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ لا يُسْتَحْلَفُ الرَّجُلُ إِلا عَلَى عِلْ٠2.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from Khalid ibn Ayman al-Hannat from abu Basir who has narrated the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A man must not be asked to take an oath except for what he knows.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (24/323))
