Al-Kāfi - The Book of Oaths, Vows and Expiations Chapter: Making an Exception in an Oath َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ حَ٠َّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْقَلانِسِيِّ أَوْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ لِلْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَسْتَثْنِيَ فِي الْيَ٠َا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْ٠4.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Husayn al- Qalanisiy or certain persons of his people who has narrated the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A servant (of Allah) can make the exception up to forty days if he forgets.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (24/328))
