Al-Kāfi - The Book of Oaths, Vows and Expiations َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ حَفْصٍ وَغَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ ٠ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُقْسِ٠ُ عَلَى أَخِيهِ قَالَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ إِنَّ٠َا أَرَادَ إِكْرَا٠12.

Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from ibn Faddal from Hafs and from more than one person of our people who has narrated the following: “Once abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about the case of a man who swears by his brother. He (the Imam) said, ‘It does not have any valid effect on him; he only wanted to honor and respect him.’” وثق كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (4/356))
