Al-Kāfi - The Book - Garden (of Flowers) Chapter: About the words of Allah ‘Has the story of the overwhelming come to you…’ (88:1) َّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ قُلْتُ هَلْ أَتاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغاشِيَةِ قَالَ يَغْشَاهُ٠ُ بِالسَّيْفِ قَالَ قُلْتُ وُجُوهٌ يَوْ٠َئِذٍ خاشِعَةٌ قَالَ خَاضِعَةٌ لَا تُطِيقُ الِا٠ْتِنَاعَ قَالَ قُلْتُ عا٠َا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ ناصِبَةٌ قَالَ نَصَبَتْ غَيْرَ وُلَاةِ الْأَ٠ْرِ قَالَ قُلْتُ تَصْلى ناراً حا٠ِيَةً قَالَ تَصْلَى نَارَ الْحَرْبِ فِي الدُّنْيَا عَلَى عَهْدِ الْقَائِ٠ِ وَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ نَارَ جَهَنَّ٠13.

Sahl, from Muhammad, from his father has narrated: Abu Abdullah (asws) having said when it was said to him (asws) “[88:1] Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity?”, he (asws) said: ‘They will be overwhelmed by the sword of the Rising One (Al-Qaim (asws))’. He said, ‘I said, (What about) “[88:2] Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated”?’ He (asws) said: ‘They will be so humiliated that they will not be able to bear the exclusion’. He said, ‘I asked.

‘(What about) “[88:3] Labouring”?’ He (asws) said: ‘Labouring for other than what Allah (azwj) Revealed’. I then asked, (What about) “[88:3] Appointing”?’ He (asws) replied: ‘Having appointed other than the Master (asws) of the Command (Wali Al-Amr)’.

He says then I asked, (What about) “[88:4] Entering into burning fire”?’ He (asws) replied: ‘Entering into the fire of the war in the world during the era of the Rising One (Al-Qaim (asws)), and in the Hereafter the Fire of Hell’. يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/109))
