Al-Kāfi - The Book - Garden (of Flowers) Chapter: About the words of Allah ‘Leave them alone; you are not blamed’ (51:54) وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ وَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلا٠َا قَالَا إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَ٠َّا كَذَّبُوا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله) هَ٠َّ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى بِهَلَاكِ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلِيّاً فَ٠َا سِوَاهُ بِقَوْلِهِ فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُ٠َّ بَدَا لَهُ فَرَحِ٠َّ قَالَ لِنَبِيِّهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله) وَ ذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرى تَنْفَعُ الْ٠78.

And by this chain, from Abaan, from Abu Baseer, who has said: Abu Ja’far (asws) and Abu Abdullah (asws), that the two of them (asws) said: ‘When the people belied the Rasool (saww) Allah (azwj), Allah (azwj) Blessed and High Decided to Destroy the people of the earth except for Ali (asws) and no one else by His (azwj) Statement: “[51:54] Then turn your back upon them for you are not to blame”. Then Changed it for them so He (azwj) was Merciful to the Believers.

Then He (azwj) Said to His (azwj) Prophet (saww): “[51:55] And continue to remind, for surely the reminder profits the believers”. ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/252)) يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi)
