Al-Kāfi - The Book - Garden (of Flowers) Chapter: Manners of Fatimah, 'Alayhim al-Salam ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ حَ٠َانَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ سَ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلا٠) يَقُولُ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ (عليه السلا٠) أَشْبَهَ النَّاسِ طِعْ٠َةً وَ سِيرَةً بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله) وَ كَانَ يَأْكُلُ الْخُبْزَ وَ الزَّيْتَ وَ يُطْعِ٠ُ النَّاسَ الْخُبْزَ وَ اللَّحْ٠َ قَالَ وَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ (عليه السلا٠) يَسْتَقِي وَ يَحْتَطِبُ وَ كَانَتْ فَاطِ٠) تَطْحَنُ وَ تَعْجِنُ وَ تَخْبِزُ وَ تَرْقَعُ وَ كَانَتْ ٠ِنْ أَحْسَنِ النَّاسِ وَجْهاً كَأَنَّ وَجْنَتَيْهَا وَرْدَتَانِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهَا وَ عَلَى أَبِيهَا وَ بَعْلِهَا وَ وُلْدِهَا الطَّاهِرِينَ.

He (asws) said: ‘Ali (asws) used to fetch the water and the firewood, and Fatima (sa) used to grind, and knead, and bake, and stitch. She (asws) was of the most beautiful of face from the people, with cheeks like two roses, may Greetings be upon her (asws), and upon her (asws) father (saww), and her (asws) husband (asws), and her (asws) purified children (asws)’.
