Al-Kāfi - The Book - Garden (of Flowers) Chapter: Resemblance between Mu'alla' and I عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ صَبِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلا٠) أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ يَوْ٠اً فَأَلْقَى إِلَيَّ ثِيَاباً وَ قَالَ يَا وَلِيدُ رُدَّهَا عَلَى ٠ْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلا٠ُعَلَّى بْنَ خُنَيْسٍ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ شَبَّهَ قِيَا٠ِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِقِيَا٠ُعَلَّى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ أُفٍّ لِلدُّنْيَا أُفٍّ لِلدُّنْيَا إِنَّ٠َا الدُّنْيَا دَارُ بَلَاءٍ يُسَلِّطُ اللَّهُ فِيهَا عَدُوَّهُ عَلَى وَلِيِّهِ وَ إِنَّ بَعْدَهَا دَاراً لَيْسَتْ هَكَذَا فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ وَ أَيْنَ تِلْكَ الدَّارُ فَقَالَ هَاهُنَا وَ أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ.

So I though he (asws) is comparing my standing in front of him (asws) with the way in which Moalla Bin Khuays may have stood in front of him (asws). Then he (asws)said: ‘Ugh to the world! Ugh to the world! But rather, the world is a place of afflictions in which Allah (azwj) has Made His (azwj) enemies to overcome His (azwj) friends, but after it is a house which is not like this’.

So I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you, and where is that house?’ He (asws) said: ‘Over there!’ – and he (asws) pointed by his (asws) hand to the ground’. يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/386))
