ÙÙØ¯ أخرجت Ø¹ÙØ© Ø§ÙØ³Ø¨Ø¹ Ø§ÙØªÙØ¨ÙØ±Ø§Øª ÙÙ Ø§ÙØ§ÙØªØªØ§Ø ÙÙ ÙØªØ§Ø¨ عÙÙ Ø§ÙØ´Ø±Ø§Ùع ÙØ§ÙاØÙا٠7-20 (The compiler of the book narrated) that his father - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Saâed ibn Abdullah quoted on the authority of Yaqoob ibn Yazid, on the authority of Hammad ibn Isa, on the authority of Hurayz, on the authority of Zurarah that Abi Jaâfar al-Baqir (MGB) said, âThe minimum number of the opening Takbirs (saying God is Great) before the start of the prayer is 1.
It may be said three times. It is even better to say it five or even seven times.âThe compiler of the book added, âI have compiled the reasons behind the seven opening Takbirs in my book Elal al-Sharâye val Asbab.â
