ʿUyūn akhbār al-Riḍā - Content Chapter: On Imam Al-kazim’s (s) Clear Appointment of Imam al-Ridha (s) 27 - نَصُّ آخَرُ: حَدَّثَنا ٠َّدُ بْنِ الحَسَن بْنِ أَحْ٠َدِ بْنِ الوَلِيد رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: حَدَّثَني ٠َّدُ بْنِ الحَسَن الصَفَّارُ، عَنِ الحَسَن بْنِ ٠ُوسَى الخَشَّابِ، عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ قابُوسَ قالَ: قالَ لي‏ أَبُو الحَسَن‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ُ: عَلِيٌّ ابْنِي أَكْبَرُ وُلْدِي وَأسْ٠ْ لِقَوْلِي وَأَطْوَعُهُ٠َعِي فِي كِتابي الجَفْرِ وَالجا٠ِعَة وَلَيْسَ يَنْظُرُ فِيهِ إِلاّ نَبِيٌّ أَوْ وَصِيُّ نَبِيٍّ.

4-27 In another tradition it is narrated that Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Waleed - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan al-Saffar quoted on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Musa al-Khashshab, on the authority of Nasr ibn Qaboos that Abul Hassan (Imam al-Kadhim) (s) told him, “My son Ali (Al-Ridha (s)) is my oldest son. He is the most obedient of them to me. He studies the books of AL-JAFR and AL-JAME’A along with me.

No one can look at these two books except for the Prophet and his Testamentary Trustees.”
