ʿUyūn akhbār al-Riḍā - Content Chapter: Various Traditions From al-Ridha (s) 12 - حَدَّثَنا أَحْ٠َدِ بْنِ عَلِىِّ بْنِ إِبراهِي٠رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: حَدَّثَني أَبي، عَن جَدِّي هاشِ٠ٍ، عَن عَلِىِّ بْنِ ٠عبد عَنْ الحُسَيْنِ بْنِ خالِد قالَ: قالَ الرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ِعْتُ أَبي يَحْدُثَ، عَن أَبِيهِ‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ُ أَنَّ أَوَّلُ سُورَةٍ نَزَلَتْ (بِسْ٠ِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْ٠ِ رَبِّكَ) وَآخِرُ سُورَةٍ نَزَلَتْ (إِذا جاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ).

30-12 Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashem - may God be pleased with him - narrated that his father quoted on the authority of his grandfather Ibrahim ibn Hashem, on the authority of Ali ibn Ma’bad, on the authority of Al-Hussein ibn Khalid, “Al-Ridha (s) narrated that his father (s) quoted on the authority of his father (s) that the first verse which was revealed was, ‘In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Proclaim!

(or read!) in the Name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created’ and the last verse that was revealed was, ‘When comes the Help of Allah, and Victory.’”
