ʿUyūn akhbār al-Riḍā - Content Chapter: Traditions about Ar-Ridha (a.s.) 47 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ‏ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: إِنَّ ٠ُوسَى‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ُ سَأَلَ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَقالَ: يا رَبِّ اجَعَلَنِيَ ٠َّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ فَأَوحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ: يا ٠ُوسَى إِنَّكَ لا تَصِلُ إِلَى ذلِكَ.

31-47 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “Indeed Moses (a.s.) asked his Lord the Honorable the Exalted, “O Lord! Please let me be one of the nation of Muhammad.” Then the Honorable the Exalted God revealed to him, “O Moses! You will not attain this.”
