He (a.s.) gave it to his slave and asked him to remind him about it when he leaves. The slave ate that bite of food. When Al-Husayn (a.s.) came out of the W.C. he asked the slave about it. The slave said, âO my Master! I ate it.â The Imam (a.s.) said, âYou are free for the sake of God.â They asked him, âO my Master! Did you set him free?â Al-Husayn (a.s.) replied, âYes.
I heard my grandfather - Godâs Prophet (S) say, âWhenever someone finds a bite of food that is thrown away and cleans it, washes it or eats it, God will free him from the Fire before the bite has gone down his throat.â (Al-Husayn (a.s.) added, âI do not like to keep in slavery one whom God has set free.ââ
