ʿUyūn akhbār al-Riḍā - Content Chapter: Traditions about Ar-Ridha (a.s.) 155 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ عَلِىُّ أَبِي طالِبٍ‏ عَلَيْهِالسَّلا٠ْسَةٌ لَوْرَ حَلتُ٠ِثلِهِنَّ لا يَخافُ عَبْدٌ إِلّا ذَنبَهُ، وَلا يَرجُو إِلّا رَبَّهُ، وَلا يَستَحيَي الجاهِلُ إِذا سُئِلَ عَ٠ُ أَن يَقُولَ: لا أَعْلَ٠ُ وَلا يَستَحيي أَحدُكُ٠َنْزِلَةِ الرَّأسِ ٠ِنَ الجَسَدِ، وَلا إِي٠َنْ لا صَبْرَ لَهُ.

31-155 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “There are five issues the like of which you cannot find no matter how hard you try. A servant (i.e. a person) should have no fear but from his own sins. One should have no hopes from anyone but his Lord. When asked something one should not be too shy to say, “I do not know”, if he does not know. The relationship of patience and perseverance to faith is like that of the head to the body.
