47-8 Ali ibn Abdullah al-Warraq narrated that Saâd ibn Abdullah quoted on the authority of Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn Abil Khattab, on the authority of Ishaq ibn Musa, âWhen my uncle Muhammad ibn Jaâfar revolted in Mecca and invited the people towards himself, he was called the Commander of the Faithful and the people had pledged allegiance to him. Ar-Ridhaâ (a.s.) and I went to see him and told him, âO uncle! Do not refute your father and brother.
This rule of yours will not last.â The Imam (a.s.) said this and departed along with me for Medina. A short time later Al-Joloodi went there, fought with and defeated him. He asked for immunity, wore a black garment, climbed up the pulpit and dethroned himself saying, âThis rule is that of Al-Maâmun. I have no rights to it.â He then left there to go to Khorasan, but died in Gorgan (north of Iran).â
