Chapter: The Meaning of the Waistband 4 - وقد روي عن الصادق عليه السلا٠أنه قال: (الصلاة حجزة الله) وذلك أنها تحجز ال٠في صلاته (٣) قال الله عز وجل: ﴿إن الصلاة تنهي عن الفحشاء وال٠عنى العين والأذن واللسان 4. It is transmitted from Al-Sadiq (AS) that he said: The Prayer [al-Salat] is the Waistband [hujzah] of Allah.

In other words, so long as one performs his prayers, his prayers will prevent him from disobedience. Allah, the Mighty and High, said: “surely prayer keeps (one) away from indecency and evil.”
