Chapter: Negation of Space, Time, Stillness, Motion, Descending, Ascending, and Transference from Allah 4 - وروي أنه سئل عليه السلا٠أين كان ربنا قبل أن يخلق س٠اء وأرضا؟ فقال عليه السلا٠كان، وكان الله ولا ٠4. And it is narrated that he (AS) was asked: Where was our Lord before He created the Heaven and the Earth?

Therefore, he (AS) replied, “`Where’ [ayna] is a question about space, and Allah existed when there was no space.”
