Abu `Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Ushnani al-Razi the Judge in Balkh said: `Ali ibn Mihrawayh al-Qazwini said: `Ali ibn Musa al-Rida said, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his forefathers, on the authority of al-Husayn ibn `Ali ibn Abu Talib (AS) that A Jewish man asked `Ali ibn Abu Talib (AS): âTell me what is not from Allah, what is not for Allah, and what Allah does not know?â Thus, he (AS) replied, As for what Allah, the Mighty and High, does not know that is your statement, O assembly of Jews, that `Uzayr is the son of Allah.
Allah does not know of any sons for Himself. As for your word, what is not for Allah, then associating partners with Allah is not for Allah. And as for your word: what is not from Allah, then oppression is not from Allah. The Jewish man said: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
