I regard halting (to be appropriate) in regards to his ḥadÄ«th, except for what he narrates from al-Ḥasan b. MaḥbÅ«b from the book al-MashÄ«kha and Muḥammad b. AbÄ« Ê¿Umayr from his NawÄdir.
The venerable of the AṣḥÄb al-ḤadÄ«th have heard these two books and relied upon what is in them. He was born in the year 180, and died in the year 267.
