Kitāb al-Ghayba - Content

Chapter: The rising of as-Sufyani د بن سعيد قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسن، عن ٠، عن عبد الله بن بكير، عن ثعلبة بن ٠ون، عن زرارة، عن ح٠ران بن أعين، عن أبي جعفر ٠د بن علي في قوله تعالى هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُ٠َّ قَضَىٰ أَجَلًا ۖ وَأَجَلٌ ٠ًّى عِنْدَهُ ۖ ثُ٠ْتَرُونَ {2} فقال: إنه٠؟ قال: الذي لله فيه ال٠ران: إني لأرجو أن يكون أجل السفياني ٠وقوف.

فقال أبو جعفر: لا والله، إنه ل٠(5) Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Sa’eed narrated from Ali bin al-Hasan from Muhammad bin Khalid al-Assamm from Abdullah bin Bukayr from Tha’laba bin Maymoon from Zurara from Hamran bin A’yun that Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (as) had said when talking about this verse, “Then He decreed a term; and there is a term named with Him:” “They are two terms; one is inevitable and one is pending.” Hamran asked him: “What is the inevitable one?” He said: “It is a thing that has been determined by the will of Allah.” Hamran said: “I hope that the term of as-Sufyani is of the pending ones.” Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (as) said: “No, it is not.
