(2) Ali bin al-Husayn al-Massâoodi narrated from Muhammad bin Yahya al-Attar from Muhammad bin Hassaan ar-Razi from Muhammad bin Ali al-Kufi from Abdurrahman bin Abu Hammad from Yaâqoob bin Abdullah al-Ashâari from Otayba bin Saâdan bin Yazeed that al-Ahnaf bin Qays had said: âOnce I went to Imam Ali (as) for some business. Then Ibnul Kawwaâ and Shibth bin Ribâiy came and asked permission to meet him.
Imam Ali (as) said to me: âIf you like to permit them, you can do that because you are the first to have your business achieved.â I said: âO Amirul Moâmineen (as), permit them to come in.â When they came in, he said to them: âWhat made you secede from me in Harooraâ?â They said: âWe wanted to be with the army of anger.â He said: âWoe unto you! Is there any kind of anger in my guardianship? Anger comes after when many kinds of calamities and distresses occur.
Then they (the army) gather like cloudlets of autumn; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine or ten from every tribe.â
