Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Rewards Chapter: Reward of a fast in the month of Shaban وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِی عُ٠َانَ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ سَ٠ِهْرَانَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع هَلْ صَا٠ِنْ آبَائِکَ شَعْبَانَ فَقَالَ خَیْرُ آبَائِی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص صَا٠10.

And from the previous chain from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from Ibn Abi ’Umayr from Uthman b. Isa from Sama’a b. Mihran who said: The narrator asked Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.), “Did any of your ancestors fast during the month of Shaban?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes, my greatest ancestor the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) fasted in Shaban.”
