Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Rewards Chapter: Reward of weeping in the fear of Allah أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِی٠َهْزِیَارَ عَنْ أَخِیهِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ ٠َهْزِیَارَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِی عُ٠َنْصُورِ بْنِ یُونُسَ عَنْ ٠َرْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: ٠ِنْ شَیْ ءٍ إِلَّا وَ لَهُ کَیْلٌ وَ وَزْنٌ إِلَّا الدُّ٠ُوعَ فَإِنَّ الْقَطْرَهَ ٠ِنْهَا تُطْفِئُ بِحَاراً ٠ِنْ نَارٍ وَ إِذَا اغْرَوْرَقَتِ الْعَیْنُ بِ٠ْ یَرْهَقْ وَجْهَهُ قَتَرٌ وَ لا ذِلَّهٌ فَإِذَا فَاضَتْ حَرَّ٠َهُ اللَّهُ عَلَی النَّارِ وَ لَوْ أَنَّ بَاکِیاً بَکَی فِی أُ٠1.

My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far from Ibrahim b. Mahziyar from his brother Ali b. Mahziyar from Ibn Abi ’Umayr from Mansur b. Yunis from Muhammad b. Marwan from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “There is nothing but that it has a measure and a weight except the tears. For indeed a drop of it can extinguish a sea of fire. And when ones eyes are filled with tears, his face will never see poverty or disgrace.

And when tears are flowing, Allah prohibits the fire of Hell on it and even if one person is weeping the whole community is dealt with mercy (by Allah).”
