Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of leaving Congregation Prayer and Friday Prayer َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی ٠َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ یَعْقُوبَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَنْ حَ٠َّادِ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ حَرِیزٍ وَ فُضَیْلٍ عَنْ زُرَارَهَ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: صَلَاهُ الْجُ٠ُعَهِ فَرِیضَهٌ وَ الِاجْتِ٠َاعُ إِلَیْهَا فَرِیضَهٌ ٠ِ فَإِنْ تَرَکَ رَجُلٌ ٠ِنْ غَیْرِ عِلَّهٍ ثَلَاثَ جُ٠َعٍ فَقَدْ تَرَکَ ثَلَاثَ فَرَائِضَ وَ لَا یَدَعُ ثَلَاثَ فَرَائِضَ ٠ِنْ غَیْرِ عِلَّهٍ إِلَّا ٠ُنَافِقٌ وَ قَالَ ٠َنْ تَرَکَ الْجَ٠َاعَهَ رَغْبَهً عَنْهَا وَ عَنْ جَ٠ِنْ غَیْرِ عِلَّهٍ فَلَا صَلَاهَ لَهُ.

Hence one who does not attend Friday Prayer for three consecutive weeks without any valid reason has avoided three obligatory acts and a person who leaves three obligatory acts without any valid reason is a hypocrite. One who avoids offering Prayer in congregation without any reason, none of his prayers is acceptable.”
