Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of breaking relations and creating differences أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِی٠َ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ ٠َّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا ظَهَرَ الْعِلْ٠ُ وَ احْتُرِزَ الْعَ٠َلُ وَ ائْتَلَفَتِ الْأَلْسُنُ وَ اخْتَلَفَتِ الْقُلُوبُ وَ تَقَاطَعَتِ الْأَرْحَا٠ُ هُنَالِکَ لَعَنَهُ٠ُ اللَّهُ فَأَصَ٠1.

Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his ancestors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “If knowledge is visible in a person and he does not act on it i.e. his words and actions do not match and if he breaks relations, Allah makes him deaf and blind.”
