Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of avoiding beggars and walking proudly أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ سُلَیْ٠ٍ الْکُوفِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِیهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا تضا٠َّتِی عَنْ سَائِلِهَا وَ ٠َشَتْ بِتَبَخْتُرِهَا حَلَفَ رَبِّی عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِعِزَّتِهِ فَقَالَ لَأُعَذِّبَنَّ بَعْضَهُ٠1.

Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his ancestors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “When my Ummah avoids beggars and walks proudly, Allah will swear by His honor and say: I will punish these people because of some of them.”
