Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of a person who double-talks ُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ الْحُسَیْنِ السَّعْدَآبَادِیُّ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عِدَّهٌ ٠ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َنِ بْنِ أَبِی حَ٠َّادٍ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ: قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لِعِیسَی ابْنِ ٠َ ع یَا عِیسَی لِیَکُنْ لِسَانُکَ فِی السِّرِّ وَ الْعَلَانِیَهِ لِسَاناً وَاحِداً وَ کَذَلِکَ قَلْبُکَ احْذَرْ نَفْسَکَ وَ کَفَی بِی خَبِیراً لَا یَصْلُحُ لِسَانَانِ فِی فَ٠ٍ وَاحِدٍ وَ لَا سَیْفَانِ فِی غِ٠ْدٍ وَاحِدٍ وَ لَا قَلْبَانِ فِی صَدْرٍ وَاحِدٍ وَ کَذَلِکَ الْأَذْهَانُ.

I would like to make you aware that there can be no two tongues in one mouth much in the same way as two swords cannot be kept in a single sheath. Similarly two hearts cannot be present in one chest. Same is the case with mind and memory.”
