Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of making the Holy Quran a way to earn money َّدٍ الْعَلَوِیُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِی٠َ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ ٠َّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ: ٠َنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ لِیَأْکُلَ بِهِ النَّاسَ جَاءَ یَوْ٠َهِ وَ وَجْهُهُ عَظْ٠1.

It was narrated to me by Hamzah b. Muhammad al-Alawi who said I was informed by Ali b. Ibrahim from his father from al-Nawfali from al-Sakuni from Ja’far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (a.s.) who said: that one who recites the Holy Quran for making money, will have no flesh on his face when he comes on the Day of Judgment.
