My father narrated to me from Saâd ibn âAbdillÄh ibn AbÄ« Khalaf Al-Qummi Al-Ashâari, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn âIsÄ, from MÅ«sÄ ibn QÄsim Al-Bajali, from someone who narrated to him, from MurÄzim, who said: I asked AbÄ âAbdillÄh (Imam SÄdiq (a.s.)) about praying in the Mosque of the Messenger of AllÄh (s.a.a.w.).
Imam (a.s.) replied: The Messenger of AllÄh (s.a.a.w.) has said: One SalÄt in my mosque is equal to one thousand prayers elsewhere, and one SalÄt in MASJID AL-ḤARÄM is equal to one thousand prayers in my mosque. Then Imam (a.s.) continued: Verily AllÄh has given preference to Makkah over other cities, and He has given preference to (specific) areas (of Makkah) over other areas in it by saying, âTake for yourselves a place of prayer on the standing-place of IbrÄhÄ«mâ (2:125).
AllÄh has also given preference to some people over others, and in His Book He has ordered people to follow them and to love them.
