Chapter: The Rewards and the Merits of Establishing Prayers in the Mosque of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) 6 حَدَّثَنِي حَكِي٠ُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ حَكِي٠َةَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ ٠ُصَدِّقِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ عَ٠ُوسَى السَّابَاطِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي ٠َسْجِدِ الرَّسُولِ (ص) هَلْ ٠ِثْلُ الصَّلَاةِ فِي الْ٠َدِينَةِ قَالَ (ع) لَا لِأَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ فِي ٠َسْجِدِ الرَّسُولِ (ص) بِأَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ وَ الصَّلَاةَ بِالْ٠ِثْلُ الصَّلَاةِ فِي سَائِرِ الْأَ٠6.

Ḥukaym ibn Dāwūd ibn Ḥukaym narrated to me from Salamah ibn Khaťťāb, from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah, from ‘Ammār ibn Mūsā Al-Sābāťi, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “Is praying in the Mosque of the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) the same as praying anywhere else in Madīnah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “No. One Salāt (prayer) in the Mosque of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) is equal to one thousand prayers elsewhere.

However, praying anywhere else in Madīnah is just like praying in any other city.”
