Chapter: Jabra`ǐl Shows the Land on Which Ĥusain (a.s.) Will Be Killed to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) 6 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رح٠ه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ عَائِذٍ عَنْ أَبِي خَدِيجَةَ سَالِ٠َّالِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ لَ٠َّا وَلَدَتْ فَاطِ٠َةُ الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) جَاءَ جَبْرَئِيلُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِص فَقَالَ لَهُ إِنَّ أُ٠َّتَكَ تَقْتُلُ الْحُسَيْنَ (ع) ٠َّ قَالَ أَ لَا أُرِيكَ ٠ِنْ تُرْبَتِهِ فَضَرَبَ بِجَنَاحِهِ فَأَخْرَجَ ٠ِنْ تُرْبَةِ كَرْبَلَاءَ وَ أَرَاهَا إِيَّاهُ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ هَذِهِ التُّرْبَةُ الَّتِي يُقْتَلُ عَلَيْهَا 6.

My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Ḥasan ibn ‘Ali Al-Washā`, from Aḥmad ibn ‘Ā`idh, from Abī Khadījah Sālim ibn Mukram Al-Jammāl, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: When Fāťimah (s.a.) gave birth to Ḥusain (a.s.), Jabra`īl came to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) and said, “Your nation will kill Ḥusain after you.

Should I not show you some of his dust (the dust on which he will be killed)?” Then Jabra`īl hit the land of Karbalā with his wing, took some of its dust, showed it to the Prophet (s.a.a.w.), and said, “This is the dust on which he will be killed.”
