Kāmil al-Ziyārāt - Content

Chapter: Jabra`ǐl Shows the Land on Which Ĥusain (a.s.) Will Be Killed to the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) 9. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Nasr, from ‘Abdil Karīm ibn Nasr, from ‘Abdil Karīm ibn ‘Amr, from Mu’allā ibn Khunays, who said: One morning, Fāťimah (s.a.) saw the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) crying and grieved.

So she asked him, “What is upsetting you, O Messenger of Allāh?” However, the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) refused to tell her the reason behind his grief.

So Fāťimah (s.a.) said, “I will not eat or drink until you tell me.” Then the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) said, “Jabra`īl brought me some of the dust on which a son, who has not been conceived yet, will be killed.” The Prophet (s.a.a.w.) added, “She (Fāťimah (s.a.)) was not pregnant with Ḥusain (a.s.) yet, and this was the dust of Ḥusain (a.s.).”
