Chapter: Weeping of the Heavens and the Earth over the Killing of Ĥusain (a.s.) and Yaĥyā ibn Zakariyyā (a.s.) 1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رح٠َشَايِخِنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ ٠َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْ٠ِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ الْأَزْرَقِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ النَّخَعِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ سَ٠ِنِينَ (ع) فِي الرَّحَبَةِ وَ هُوَ يَتْلُو هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ- فَ٠ا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِ٠اءُ وَ الْأَرْضُ وَ ٠ُنْظَرِينَ وَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِ الْحُسَيْنُ ٠ِنْ بَعْضِ أَبْوَابِ الْ٠َسْجِدِ فَقَالَ أَ٠َا إِنَّ هَذَا سَيُقْتَلُ وَ تَبْكِي عَلَيْهِ السَّ٠َاءُ وَ الْأَرْضُ 1.

My father and a group of my scholars including ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ya’qūb ibn Yazīd, from Aḥmad ibn Ḥasan Al-Maythami, from ‘Ali Al-Azraq, from Ḥasan ibn Ḥakam Al-Nakha’i, from someone who said: I heard the Commander of the Believers (a.s.) in Ruḥbah reading this verse, “Neither did the heavens weep over them, nor the earth, nor were they granted respite” (44:29), when Ḥusain (a.s.) entered from one of the doors of the mosque.

The Commander of the Believers (a.s.) said, “As for him (Ḥusain (a.s.)), verily he will be killed and the heavens and the earth will weep over him.”
