My father, my brother, âAli ibn Ḥusain, and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan all narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn IdrÄ«s ibn Aḥmad, from AbÄ« âAbdillÄh Al-JÄmÅ«rÄni, from Ḥasan ibn âAli ibn AbÄ« Ḥamzah, from Sandal/SafwÄn, from DÄwÅ«d ibn Farqad, who said: I was sitting in the house of AbÄ« âAbdillÄh (Imam SÄdiq (a.s.)) and I saw a pigeon who was cooing for a long time. Then AbÅ« âAbdillÄh (a.s.) looked at me and asked, âO DÄwÅ«d!
Do you know what this bird is saying?â I replied, âMay I sacrifice myself for you! No, I do not.â Imam (a.s.) said, âIt is cursing the killers of Ḥusain ibn âAli (a.s.).
Therefore, choose pigeons as birds in your houses.â The above ḤadÄ«th has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, and all of my scholars, from Saâd ibn âAbdillÄh, from AbÄ« âAbdillÄh Al-JÄmÅ«rÄni, from Ḥasan ibn âAli ibn AbÄ« Ḥamzah, from Sandal/SafwÄn, from DÄwÅ«d ibn Farqad, from AbÄ« âAbdillÄh (a.s.).
