Kāmil al-Ziyārāt - Content

Chapter: The Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) Prolongs Life and Increases Sustenance Neglecting It Shortens Life and Decreases Sustenance َّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحِ٠ْيَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَ٠ِيدِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَ٠َنْصُورِ بْنِ حَازِ٠ِعْنَاهُ يَقُولُ ٠َنْ أَتَى عَلَيْهِ حَوْلٌ لَ٠ْ يَأْتِ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) أَنْقَصَ [نَقَصَ اللَّهُ ٠ُرِهِ حَوْلًا وَ لَوْ قُلْتُ إِنَّ أَحَدَكُ٠ُوتُ قَبْلَ أَجَلِهِ بِثَلَاثِينَ سَنَةً لَكُنْتُ صَادِقاً وَ ذَلِكَ لِأَنَّكُ٠ْ تَتْرُكُونَ زِيَارَةَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَلَا تَدَعُوا زِيَارَتَهُ- يَ٠ُدُّ اللَّهُ فِي أَعْ٠ْ وَ يَزِيدُ فِي أَرْزَاقِكُ٠ْ وَ إِذَا تَرَكْتُ٠ْ زِيَارَتَهُ نَقَصَ اللَّهُ ٠ْ وَ أَرْزَاقِكُ٠ْ فَتَنَافَسُوا فِي زِيَارَتِهِ وَ لَا تَدَعُوا ذَلِكَ فَإِنَّ الْحُسَيْنَ شَاهِدٌ لَكُ٠ْ فِي ذَلِكَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِهِ وَ عِنْدَ فَاطِ٠2.

Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh Al-Ḥimyari narrated to me from his father, from Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdil Ḥamīd, from Sayf ibn ‘Amīrah, from Mansūr ibn Ḥāzim, who said: We heard him (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: If one (full) year passes and one does not go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), one year from his life will be reduced by Allāh.

If I tell you that some of you die thirty years before your (destined) time of death, I have said the truth and this is because you (people) ignore going to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.). So do not neglect going to his Ziyārah, for Allāh will prolong your lives and increase your sustenance. However, if you ignore his Ziyārah, Allāh will shorten your lives and reduce your sustenance. Compete with one another in going to his Ziyārah and do not neglect it.

Verily Ḥusain (a.s.) will testify on your behalf regarding this (matter) to Allāh, His Messenger (s.a.a.w.), Fāťimah (s.a.), and the Commander of the Believers (a.s.).
