If a woman is in the state of ḥayḍ or nifās and an eclipse or earthquake occurs, it is not obligatory for her to perform ṣalāt al‑āyāt, nor does she have to make it up. [1] This means that although a person must start performing ṣalāt al‑āyāt during the eclipse, he can continue performing it while the eclipse continues and does not need to finish it before the eclipse is over.
