Go and spend even if it be one Dirham.’ وعن الحسين بن محمد ، عن معلى بن محمد ، عن سليمان بن سفيان ، عن إسحاق بن عمار ، عن أبي عبدالله (عليه السلام) قال : يأتي على الناس زمان من سأل الناس عاش ومن سكت مات ، قلت : فما أصنع إن أدركت ذلك الزمان ؟ قال : تعينهم بما عندك فإن لم تجد فبجاهك Is’haq Bin Ammar narrates from the Holy Imam Ja’far Al Sadiq -asws that: ‘A time will come upon the people that whoever will beg will survive and the one who will stay silent will die.’ The narrator asked: ‘If I were to be present during this time what shall I do?’ The Holy Imam -asws replied: ‘Help them with whatever that you possess and if you have nothing then help them with your influence.’ Earn as well as Spend in a Lawful Way محمد بن يعقوب قال : في رواية أبي بصير عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) في قوله عزّ وجلّ : ( أنفقوا من طيبات ما كسبتم ) (1) فقال : كان القوم قد كسبوا مكاسب سوء في الجاهلية فلما أسلموا أرادوا أن يخرجوها من أموالهم فيتصدقوا بها ، فأبي الله عزّ وجلّ أن يخرجوا إلا من أطيب ما كسبوا محمد بن علي بن الحسين قال : قال الصادق ( عليه السلام ) : لو أن الناس أخذوا ما أمرهم الله به فأنفقوه فيما نهاهم الله عنه ما قبله منهم ، ولو أخذوا ما نهاهم الله عنه فأنفقوه فيما أمرهم الله به ما قبله منهم ، حتى يأخذوه من حق وينفقوه في حق Sheykh Sadouq has narrated that the Holy Imam Ja’far Al Sadiq -asws said: ‘If people were to earn their wealth in the manner which Allah -azwj has Told them to do but spend it in a manner which He -azwj has Forbidden it then it would not be accepted.

If they earn it by unlawful means but spend it in a lawful manner, even then it would not be accepted from them until they earn by lawful means and spend it in lawful manner.’ Reward of Generosity محمد بن علي بن الحسين قال : قال الصادق ( عليه السلام ) : المنجيات : إطعام الطعام ، وإفشاء السلام ، والصلاة بالليل والناس نيام Sheykh Sadouq has narrated that the Holy Imam Ja’far Al Sadiq -asws said: ‘Salvation can be attained from three things – Feeding the people; Spreading peace; and Praying when people are sleeping at night.’ وعن علي بن إبراهيم ، عن محمد بن عيسى ، عن ابن فضال ، عن عبدالله بن ميمون ، عن جعفر ، عن أبيه ، أن النبي ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ) قال : الرزق أسرع إلى من يطعم الطعام من السكين في السنام Abdullah Bin Maymoon has narrated from the Holy Imam Ja’far Al Sadiq -asws who from his father the Holy Imam Muhammad Al Baqir -asws that: ‘The Holy Prophet -saww says that: ‘Just as the knife enters the hump of a camel easily, sustenance reaches that person who feeds the people.
