\n And from Al Baqir -asws , he -asws was asked, \u2018Why was the Prophet -saww named as the Ummy?\u2019 He -asws said: \u2018It is attributed to Makkah, and that is from the Words of Allah -azwj : to warn the Mother City and those around it [42:7] , and the Mother city is Makkah, therefore he -saww is called Ummy due to that\u2019\u2019.
