We start with a Holy Verse, where Allah -azwj Says: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ (63:9) O you who believe! let not your wealth, or your children, divert you from the Zikr of Allah; and whoever does that, these are the losers.

(63:9) In a Hadith, Rasool Allah -saww said: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَوْلَادُنَا أَكْبَادُنَا صُغَرَاؤُهُمْ أُمَرَاؤُنَا وَ كُبَرَاؤُهُمْ أَعْدَاؤُنَا فَإِنْ عَاشُوا فَتَنُونَا وَ إِنْ مَاتُوا أَحْزَنُونَا Rasool-Allah -saww said: ‘Our children are our livers (souls). Their young ones are (like) our rulers [1] and their older ones are (like) our enemies.

So, if they live, they (try to) involve us in ‘Fitna’ (troubles), and if they die, they make us grieve’.” [2] In another Hadith, Rasool Allah -saww said: جَامِعُ الْأَخْبَارِ، عَنْ كِتَابِ جُمَلِ الْغَرَائِبِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ص أَنَّهُ قَالَ خَمْسَةٌ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ وَ ثَوَابُهُمْ يَجْرِي إِلَى دِيوَانِهِمْ مَنْ غَرَسَ نَخْلًا وَ مَنْ حَفَرَ بِئْراً وَ مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِداً وَ مَنْ كَتَبَ مُصْحَفاً وَ مَنْ خَلَّفَ‏ ابْناً صَالِحاً Jami’e Al Akhbar, from the book Juml Al Garaib, by his chain, Prophet -saww said: ‘Five (types of people) are in the graves and their Rewards keep flowing in their Registers (of deeds): (1) One who planted a tree (2) One who dug a well, (3) One who built a masjid, (4) One who wrote down Quran, (5) One who left behind a righteous child.

[3] In a Hadith, Rasool Allah -saww said: رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ص أَنَّهُ نَظَرَ إِلَى بَعْضِ الْأَطْفَالِ فَقَالَ وَيْلٌ لِأَطْفَالِ آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنْ آبَائِهِمُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ لَا مِنْ آبَائِهِمُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَا يُعَلِّمُونَهُمْ شَيْئاً مِنَ الْفَرَائِضِ وَ إِذَا تَعَلَّمُوا أَوْلَادُهُمْ مَنَعُوهُمْ وَ رَضُوا عَنْهُمْ بِعَرَضٍ يَسِيرٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا فَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ بَرِي‏ءٌ وَ هُمْ مِنِّي بِرَاءٌ It is reported from the Prophet -saww and he -saww looked at some children and he -saww said: ‘Woe be unto the fathers of the children of the end of the times!’ It was said, ‘O Rasool-Allah -saww !
