Actively seeking knowledge is not only encouraged, but mandatory for both men and women. [1] Islam explicitly says: ‘Hasten in the seeking of knowledge, a single word of wisdom [2] you take from the truthful is better than this world and what it contains of the gold and silver’ . [3] Similarly, science is the inquisition.
It is the quest of the unknown which leads to one answer after another; it is the feeling of fulfilment and accomplishment which energises one to continue tirelessly solving the mysteries of the unknown. Hence scientific knowledge keeps on updating and bringing in innovation, and needs one to be abreast of the developments, and to be actively involved within changing financial and social circles.
