Masomeen-asws are Joyful during the Layla-tul-Jummah – Shab-e-Jummah: Days of the Week: Layla-tul-Jummah Shab-e-Jummah The Night Before Friday The Excellence of Friday and the Night Before Friday وَ عَنْ‏ إِبْرَاهِيمَ‏ بْنِ‏ أَبِي‏ مَحْمُودٍ قَالَ‏: قُلْتُ‏ لِلرِّضَا ع‏ يَا ابْنَ‏ رَسُولِ‏ اللَّهِ‏ مَا تَقُولُ‏ فِي‏ الْحَدِيثِ‏ الَّذِي‏ يَرْوِيهِ‏ النَّاسُ‏ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يَنْزِلُ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَقَالَ ع لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَرِّفِينَ‏ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَواضِعِهِ* وَ اللَّهِ مَا قَالَ ع كَذَلِكَ- إِنَّمَا قَالَ ع إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يُنْزِلُ مَلَكاً إِلَى السَّمَاءِ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ فِي الثُّلُثِ الْأَخِيرِ وَ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ فَيَأْمُرُهُ فَيُنَادِي [أ] هَلْ مِنْ سَائِلٍ فَأُعْطِيَهُ هَلْ مِنْ تَائِبٍ فَأَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِ هَلْ مِنْ مُسْتَغْفِرٍ فَأَغْفِرَ لَهُ يَا طَالِبَ الْخَيْرِ فَأَقْبِلْ يَا طَالِبَ الشَّرِّ أَقْصِرْ فَلَا يَزَالُ يُنَادِي بِهَذَا حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ فَإِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ عَادَ إِلَى مَحَلِّهِ مِنْ مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاءِ حَدَّثَنِي بِذَلِكَ أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص.

Ibrahim bin Abi Mahmood asked from Imam Ali Reza -asws : O Son of Prophet -asws ! What do you ‑asws say about the hadith, which they quote, ‘Allah -azwj Descends on the earth from the skies on every night? Imam Ali Reza -asws said: May Allah -azwj Curse those who have modified the Words of Allah -azwj . By Allah -azwj , His Prophet -saww never said something like this.

But Prophet -saww said: ‘Allah -azwj Sends an angel, from the skies, during the last 1/3 part of every night but on Shab-e-Jummah (the night before Friday) it’s from the start of the shab (night) and Allah -azwj Asks him (the angel -as ) to announce, Allah -azwj will Bless those who are praying for their needs, Forgive those who are seeking forgiveness, will accept repentance of those are pleading guilty.

O seeker of ‘Al-Khair’ [1] come and find refuge, O trouble maker, be warned, to abstain from it. The angel -as keeps on repeating these (statements) until the time of Al-Fajr.
