[6] \n Finally, the minimum amount of savings which are kept for a year on which Zakat becomes due is 200 dirhams (\u00a3240), as per 22 nd April 2020 (see Appendix III), and an individual should not be given less than 5 dirhams (\u00a36). Inform me about the Zak \u0101 t, \u2018How did it come to be twenty five from every thousand, not happening to be less or more, what is its cause?\u2019 So he -asws said: \u2018Allah -azwj Mighty and Majestic Created the creatures, all of them, so He -azwj Knows their young ones and their old ones, and their rich ones and their poor ones. Therefore, He -azwj Made twenty five human beings out of a thousand as poor. And had He -azwj Known that that (amount) would be insufficient for them, He -azwj would have Increased (the proportion) for them, because He -azwj Created them, and He -azwj is more Knowing of them\u2019. But, as for today, so you and your companions should not give it except to the \u2018one\u2019 who does recognise (the Wilayah). It (poverty) did not come to them from the direction of the Obligation of Allah -azwj, but they are deficient due to the one who prevents their rights (to be given to them), not from what Allah -azwj has Obligated for them; and had the people paid their rights, they (the poor) would all be living a good life\u2019. So, He -azwj will Delete your evil deeds by it and He -azwj would Multiply your good deeds by it, and He -azwj will Raise your levels by it.
