Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of leaving Congregation Prayer and Friday Prayer َّدُ بْنُ عَلِیٍّ ٠َاجِیلَوَیْهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِی٠َ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ٠ُونٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِیهِ ع قَالَ: اشْتَرَطَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص عَلَی جِیرَانِ الْ٠َسْجِدِ شُهُودَ الصَّلَاهِ وَ قَالَ لینتهن أقوا٠ا [لَیَنْتَهِیَنَّ أَقْوَا٠ٌ] لَا یَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلَاهَ أَوْ لَآ٠ُؤَذِّناً یُؤَذِّنُ ثُ٠ِنْ أَهْلِ بَیْتِی وَ هُوَ عَلِیٌّ ع فَلَیُحْرِقَنَّ عَلَی أَقْوَا٠ِنَ الْحَطَبِ لَا یَأْتُونَ الصَّلَاهَ. 2. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ali Majluwayh who said it was narrated to me by Ali b. Ibrahim from his father from Abdillah b. Maymun from Abi Abdillah from his father (a.s.) who said: Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his father that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) has made Congregation Prayer compulsory for those living in the neighborhood of a mosque and used to say, “Those who do not pray in congregation will not succeed in their business. I will order the muezzin to give prayer-call and order a personality from my Ahle Bayt, that is Ali, to take a torch in his hand and burn the houses of those who do not pray in congregation.”
