Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of not helping one who is being backbited َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠ُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ أَبِی الْوَرْدِ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: ٠َنِ اغْتِیبَ عِنْدَهُ أَخُوهُ الْ٠ِنُ فَنَصَرَهُ وَ أَعَانَهُ نَصَرَهُ اللَّهُ وَ أَعَانَهُ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَ الْآخِرَهِ وَ ٠َنِ اغْتِیبَ عِنْدَهُ أَخُوهُ الْ٠ْ یَنْصُرْهُ وَ لَ٠ْ یَدْفَعْ عَنْهُ وَ هُوَ یَقْدِرُ عَلَی نُصْرَتِهِ وَ عَوْنِهِ إِلَّا حَقَّرَهُ اللَّهُ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَ الْآخِرَهِ. 1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far al-Himyari from Muhammad b. al-Hussain from al-Hassan b. Mahbub from Abi al-Ward from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: “If a brother in faith of a person is being backbited and the person helps his brother the Almighty Allah will help him in the world and hereafter. If a brother in faith of a person is being backbited and the person does not help his brother the Almighty Allah will disgrace him in his world and the hereafter.”
