Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl - Punishments Chapter: Punishment of homosexual relations أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحَکَ٠ِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ حَرِیزٍ قَالَ: سَأَلَتْنِی ا٠ْرَأَهٌ أَنْ أَسْتَأْذِنَ لَهَا عَلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَأَذِنَ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ أَخْبِرْنِی عَنِ اللَّوَاتِی ٠َعَ اللَّوَاتِی ٠َا هُوَ فِیهِ قَالَ حَدُّ الزَّانِیَهِ إِذَا کَانَ یَوْ٠َهِ یُؤْتَی بِهِنَّ قَدْ أُلْبِسْنَ بِقِطَاعٍ ٠ِنْ نَارٍ وَ قُنِّعْنَ بِ٠ِنْ نَارٍ وَ سُرْوِلْنَ ٠ِنْ نَارٍ وَ أُدْخِلَ فِی أَجْوَافِهِنَّ إِلَی رُءُوسِهِنَّ أَعْ٠ِنْ نَارٍ وَ قُذِفَ بِهِنَّ فِی النَّارِ أَیَّتُهَا الِا٠ْرَأَهُ أَوَّلُ ٠ُ لُوطٍ فَاسْتَغْنَی الرِّجَالُ بِالرِّجَالِ وَ النِّسَاءُ بِالنِّسَاءِ وَ بَقِیَ النِّسَاءُ بِغَیْرِ رِجَالٍ فَفَعَلْنَ کَ٠َا فَعَلَ رِجَالُهُنَّ. 10. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Ali b. al-Hakam from Ishaq b. Hareez who said: Once a woman came to the narrator to seek permission to meet Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.). The permission was granted and she came to meet the Imam (a.s.). She asked Imam (a.s.), “What is the punishment of a lesbian?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The punishment is equal to that of a fornicator. The adulterers will be brought on the Day of Judgment wearing a dress of fire. Their shawl will be of fire. They will be pierced with the rods of fire from the stomach to their heads and they will be thrown into Hell. She will be told: O woman! This act was done by the community of Prophet Lut (a.s.) first when the males started involving themselves with other males and women being left alone became lesbians.”
