Chapter: Weeping of the Heavens and the Earth over the Killing of Ĥusain (a.s.) and Yaĥyā ibn Zakariyyā (a.s.) 18 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ أَخِي رَحِ٠َا اللَّهُ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ وَ ٠َّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى جَ٠ِيعاً عَنِ الْعَ٠ْرَكِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْبُوفَكِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَ كَانَ فِي خِدْ٠َةِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الثَّانِي (ع) عَنْ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ الْجَ٠َّالِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ فِي طَرِيقِ الْ٠َدِينَةِ وَ نَحْنُ نُرِيدُ ال٠َكَّةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ٠َا لِي أَرَاكَ كَئِيباً حَزِيناً ٠ُنْكَسِراً فَقَالَ لَوْ تَسْ٠َعُ لَشَغَلَكَ عَنْ ٠َسْأَلَتِي قُلْتُ فَ٠َعُ قَالَ ابْتِهَالَ الْ٠َلَائِكَةِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَى قَتَلَةِ أَ٠ِنِينَ وَ قَتَلَةِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ نَوْحَ الْجِنِّ وَ بُكَاءَ الْ٠َلَائِكَةِ الَّذِينَ حَوْلَهُ وَ شِدَّةَ جَزَعِهِ٠َنْ يَتَهَنَّأُ ٠َعَ هَذَا بِطَعَا٠ٍ أَوْ بِشَرَابٍ أَوْ نَوْ٠ٍ وَ ذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ 18. My father and my brother both narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, and from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā, from ‘Amraki ibn ‘Ali Al-Būfaki, from Yaḥyā – who was the servant of Abī Ja’far the Second (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), from ‘Ali (ibn Ḥakam Al-Kūfi), from Safwān Al-Jammāl, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) on the route from Madīnah to Makkah, “O son of the Messenger of Allāh! Why do I see you so depressed, saddened, and grieved?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “If you could hear that which I hear, you would have been distracted from asking me this question.” I asked, “What do you hear?” Imam (a.s.) replied: (I hear the voice of) the angels beseeching Allāh, the Great and Almighty, to curse the killers of the Commander of the Believers and the killers of Ḥusain (a.s.). And (I hear the voice of) lamentation of the Jinn and the intense restlessness and weeping of the angels who are around him (Imam Ḥusain (a.s.)). So who can enjoy food, drink, or sleeping after hearing these voices?!
